is a chat service that makes it really easy to create public chat rooms. I’ve talked about Gitter before, with one if its drawbacks being the requirement of a Github account. This week Gitter will be adding the ability to sign up and use Gitter with Twitter accounts.

Accounts using Twitter will be limited in their ability to create rooms or to use private rooms, but that should be fixed in the next couple of weeks. Gitter is also looking at other methods of authentication, which will help lower the onboarding steps for others to use the service. I’m hoping Google logins will be supported. And if you want to see what it’s like, join the Edchat Room I created and say hi!
