A good place to start this process is to think about your school’s mission statement and vision and then think through how your makerspace can be seen as a physical representation of that strategy.

I used to view the whole mission/vision statement as a waste of time, keeping me from actually getting work done. But I’ve come to realize that the right mission and vision statement is a two way street. They show the stakeholders what is the goal of the organization and it also help informs those not involved exactly what the organization is all about.
