How libraries are staying relevant

Libraries are repositioning themselves as cultural and learning centers for the digital age. Many lend out mobile hotspots, often for weeks at a time. Others offer classes in the latest tech, such as 3D printing and music-editing software. And libraries have some of the savviest social media editors around.

I was thinking about our local library this week. The last video rental store shutdown a couple of months ago, leaving the library as the only place in town to get movies or TV shows on physical medium.

Libraries are the unsung heroes of the community, I’m very happy to see these new uses of the facilities.
