Although I’ve created a couple of cheat sheets for remembering keyboard shortcuts, there are other ways to remind yourself which key does what.
A lot of Google products have a key sequence that will show you the keyboard shortcuts for the current product:
|Gmail*||Shift – /|
|Chromebook||Control – Alt – ?|
|Google Docs/Sheets/Slides||Control – /|
(Command – / on macOS)
|Microsoft Word (show Keytips)||F10|
A lot of programs do not have a way to easily show keyboard shortcuts, which is a shame. Apple is addressing the issue of discoverability with the Touchbar in the new MacBook Pros, we’ll have to see how well that works out.
