Test your phishing email detection skills with Google.

Phishing is a hacking technique where the attacker fakes their identity to the victim, hoping the victim will not notice that they are not talking to who they think they are.  At my school we’ve had several emails from attackers saying they are a principal, trying to get staff to purchase iTunes gift cards.

It’s pretty cool, and Google steps you through things to check. I disagree with one of the questions which was based on a school with a .org address and not .edu since a lot of K-12 schools are .org.

This will be a good site to share with staff and students on what to check when you are wondering about the legitimacy of an email.
