The parachute from the Perseverance landing carried a hidden message. Encoded in binary, the message read Dare Mighty Things. This was the team’s motto, and was plastered on the walls of Mission Control at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

I love the motto Dare Mighty Things. Three words with so much potential.

  • Dare: It’s not a playground taunt. As an adult, it’s to motivate you to do something that may be scary but will pay off.
  • Mighty: More than great, the word might has heft.
  • Things: Encompasses both the physical and non-physical. Could be writing a book or running a marathon.

Go and Dare Mighty Things!
