I am a great believer in luck. The harder I work, the more of it I seem to have. – Coleman Cox
There is a certain animosity toward individuals who always seem to be lucky. But, it appears that a lot of luck is self-made.
The lucky have 2 traits:
- They work hard. When we see a performer, and athlete, someone at the top of their game, we’re seeing the fruits of their labor and not the months and years of work they have put in. Hard work prepares them to rise up when the opportunity arises.
- They take risks. You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take. – Wayne Gretzky. Sure, they may only succeed one time out of 100, but if you only know of the 1 time, you have no idea about the 99 times they failed.
Next time you see someone who was “lucky”, look behind the curtain and see where their made their luck.
