Suspend tabs in Chrome with The Great Suspender
I like having multiple tabs open, and I also like Google Chrome (even though it is a bit of an energy hog). But, sometimes having a lot of tabs open will take up memory and processing power (not to mention battery life) even if the tab is sitting there. That’s where The Great Suspender helps.
Once installed, you use the settings to adjust how The Great Suspender works. I set it to autosuspend tabs after 15 minutes, but not to suspend pinned tabs.
You can add domains to the white list to never suspend tabs in the listed domains, or, once a tab is suspended, click the link that shows to whitelist the current site and not suspend tabs associated with the site.
