There is a ton of research about how business works that can be used in a school setting, and here is another one! Microsoft’s Human Factors Lab looked at what happens to the brain when meetings are back to back. The main takeaway is that breaks are important. So, you’re saying, “students get a break every 40 minutes!” Three minutes to get to your next class is not a break.
