To use Docs365 GIFmaker, first add the add-on to your Google Slides presentation. In your presentation, create each frame of your animation as a slide. Once your masterpiece is finished, run the add-on to create an animated gif. The result can be saved to Google Drive or downloaded.

I could see this add-on being used as a demonstration of creating stop-motion movies. Instead of taking pictures, students can manipulate the graphics in the computer. This process may be faster for the students, which is helpful since stop-motion movies can be very tedious to create.
