New branding and new features – G Suite for Education
And today, we’re introducing a new name that better reflects this mission: G Suite.
G Suite is a set of intelligent apps—Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Hangouts, and more—designed to bring people together, with real-time collaboration built in from the start. And there’s a lot more on the way. Because we believe that when organizations break down silos, connect people and empower them to work together, we get the speed, agility and impact needed to compete in today’s market.

Along with the renaming of Google Apps for Education, Google announced that everything cloud based, including Chromebooks will now be called Google Cloud.
There were also new features announced for G Suite, including smarter Sheets, Slides, and Google Drive. The big news hear is Drive for Teams and Meetings for Teams. Drive for Teams brings the management of documents and folders in Google Drive to the team level instead of individually. Meetings for Teams looks like some Google Hangouts and Drive integration to allow remote meetings. Included with Meetings for Teams is a phone number for people to dial in to meetings and a capacity for up to 50 video participants. Both of these features are still in preview.
