The Micro bit was designed by the BBC in England as a device to get students, especially girls, more involved in programming. Although it was behind schedule, the BBC is now back on track. Their goal is to reach 100 million people with the Micro bit.

The complete plans for building the Micro bit are now available, allowing anyone to make the Micro bit. Although it is higher priced than some competitors, like the Raspberry Pi Zero, it doesn’t require all of the additional peripherals like the Raspberry Pi series.

The United States and China will be targeted, along with the addition of upgraded hardware.
