One of the best things I’ve ever done is to turn off almost all of the notifications on my phone. My default text tone is silence, my default ringtone is silence, and I’ve gone through and changed the app notifications to turn off sounds.
I get strange looks from some who cannot comprehend not getting notifications. But, I now deal with my phone on my own terms, looking at it when I want to, not when it wants me to.
It’s quite liberating.
