Introducing Google Cast for Education
Google Cast for Education is a free Chrome app that allows students and teachers to share their screens wirelessly from anywhere in the classroom. Cast for Education carries video and audio across complex school networks, has built-in controls for teachers, and works seamlessly with Google Classroom.

And here I’ve been hoping for some sort of security controls for Google’s Chromecast, but Google has decided to bypass the Chromecast altogether.
Google Cast allows the teacher’s computer, that is attached to the projector, to act as a Chromecast device for the student’s Chromebooks in the classroom. Using a combination of security controls and Google Classroom, a teacher can allow a student to cast to the projector.
I can’t wait to try it out this fall, but if you are looking to play around with it now, you have to enable the developer channel on your devices to use the cast feature. Unfortunately, some districts will be held back from upgrading Chrome until the new versions are certified to work with state testing.
