We can always coast, do the things we’ve done a million times before, but does that offer any growth? We shouldn’t look at the term self-improvement as a negative. To some it implies that they have something wrong with them, but it only means that if you let it.
In the end, I want to be the best human being I can be. Self-improvement means I need to look at myself with a critical lens, figure out what I’m bad at, and work on getting better. I have a lot of ADHD tendencies which I’m working on. It’s a long, slow process, but I am better today than I was a year ago. And I will be even better next year than I am now. Using things such as to do lists and the Pomodoro technique helps immensely.
Do the things you’re bad at. It will make you better at the things you’re good at.
