Pedagogy
Tom Mullaney looks in to using Google Chat for collaboration and relationship building instead of email. Google Chat Spaces is an underused tool, it can do a lot to enhance collaboration and more importantly, a sense of community among students who may not have the opportunity to interact with each other in person.
There are more than one way to check for listening and participation in the classroom and the method you choose can affect how much participation you get.
Technology
If you’ve used ChatGPT or Bing Chat, you’ve probably seen that they can be wildly inaccurate but uncanningly confident in the informaiton they bring up so why is that? Part of the reason is their inability to understand human emotions, which leads them to providing irrelevant or unhelpful responses.
Pop Culture
It’s almost cliche at this point that it seems like Americans are really leaning in to the movie Idocracy, and recent IQ tests have shown that scores have dropped. We can debate the relevance of IQ tests all day, but it does seem that things in school are “different”.
Pot Pourri
The Smithsonian places 4.5 Million images into the public domain, which means these images are free for you to do whatever you want with, copyright no longer applies.
